The 2011 Avocado season has ended, but you can still purchase our incredible avocado oil. We'll have fresh avocados for you in May or June.
We sell avocados and avocado oil online and at our location in Morro Bay. Our mission is to consistently provide high quality mature Hass avocados. Our regular satisfied customers, restaurants, sushi bars, caterers, local health and specialty food shops depend on our premium avocados. When its on their menu, they cannot afford to compromise quality.

We'd like to thank all of our loyal online customers who ordered avocados
and avocado oil from Morro Creek Ranch this past crop year. The last day to
order avocados from our website will be Tuesday, Jan. 8. However, we will
continue to sell the avocado oil. You may still be able to order avocados by calling our Country Store at 805-772-8200 and they will be happy to process orders while supplies last. Hopefully we will have more avocados by May 15th. We'll send a reminder email as that time gets closer. Again, thank you for your loyal patronage with Morro Creek Ranch.

Our Story

Morro Creek Ranch, a family-owned agricultural operation (formerly a portion of the original Morro y Cayucos Spanish Land Grant), started in 1978 with the purchase of 348 acres straddling Highway 41 approximately two miles east of Highway 1 and the coastal town of Morro Bay, CA. Robert Staller, the Resident Co-managing General partner, has been in production and reclamation agriculture for over 55 years. He came upon the California property in San Luis Obispo County and purchased it after developing the irrigation system and doing extensive soil and climate analyses to determine that the Hass avocado variety (the most popular variety worldwide) could grow and prosper in this well-defined micro-climate. In the ensuing thirty years an extensive Hass avocado orchard planting was established and we currently harvest the production of over 27,000 trees to various California packers who then grade, pack, and ship our Hass avocados all over the world.

Visit Us

Our La Palapa Country Store is located 2 miles east of Morro Bay at 1800 Atascadero Road. Come visit us when you are in the area and say, “Hi” to Cindy. She’ll be delighted to share some avocado facts and ranch history with you.

Avocado Shipping Disclaimers

Packages  of avocados sent to areas experiencing extreme weather conditions must be picked up immediately. We do not take responsibility of spoilage when the fruit is left out in extreme heat or cold.

Why Popcorn? Popcorn is an ideal packing material because it is biodegradable, and it stops your avocados from softening prematurely since it doesn’t emit a gas. Opening a box of avocados never smelled so good.

Avocado Storage Instructions

Our avocados will arrive to you mature, green, and firm. The avocados should be kept at room temperature (65-75 degrees Fahrenheit) until they soften and are ready to eat (2-5 days). Placing Hass avocados in a brown paper bag with an apple or banana will hasten softening. Do not store firm green avocados in the refrigerator.

The avocado is ready-to-eat when it yields to gentle pressure when placed in the palm of your hand and squeezed gently. Ready-to-eat avocados may be stored in the refrigerator for several days without comprising the taste or delicious butter texture.
